Subject:help on changing BPM's per track

ok, as you can tell by my question I am a newbie to Acid Pro so bear with me. From what I have researched in the forum there is not an simple remedy to my question (what a pity).

Basically I want to just add drums (a good , heavy beat) to an already recorded song to make it more danceable. Nothin' fancy - just for my own personal enjoyment. The song is at one BMP while the drum track sample I copy on there is at another.

I get the basic idea of how beatmapper works. But when I drop a sample drum track in it's not 30 seconds so beatmapper does not kick in. What do I need to do to have the drum loop match the song's bmp?

any insight would be most helpful.

You could either manually turn it into a loop or a beatmapped track. To do this, go into the file's properties page (double-click on the track's icon at the left to bring this up). On the General page, you can change the track type to loop or beatmapped.

If you choose loop, you'll want to count how many beats your drum sample actually has, then enter that in the Number of Beats field on the Stretch page in file properties. This could end up taking up a fair chunk of RAM, depending on how large your file is, but if it's less than 30 seconds, it shouldn't present a problem.

If you choose Beatmap on the general page, then you can go to the Stretch page, and press the Beatmapper button, to initiate the wizard.

Enjoy,
joel
