I want to remix a song that I have in MP3 format. When I put it into Acid the Beatmapper comes up and I go through all that stuff. I was wondering if there is any way to filter out certain parts of the song like the vocals or drums? |

Not very well. You can get a vocal remover but the result is pretty shoddy. You can try to tweak the levels in Sound Forge, but at most you will accomplish a diminished effect or if you filter it out completely you will inadvertantly also filter out much of the other sounds in that range and end up having holes in the track. Without having the master copy of the song you are kind of SOL. |

anon is right. This very issue has been brought up ad nauseam in the Sound Forge forum. No amount of software is going to able to totally extract/eliminate a specific part of a 2-channel stereo mixdown without some degradation. HTH, Iacobus |
