Subject:Problems rendering a project to wav file

Hi,

Newcomer to ACID here, I am trying to render an 8 track audio only project to wav file and notice there are glitches in the final file (easily seen in sound forge).

The preview works fine. Many of the tracks are attenuated using the track sliders (up to -24dB). When I render the result there would be one or more short-lived jumps in volume (Less than a second).

I managed to get a clean take by changing the volume envelope on each track rather than using the track volume slider.

All but two tracks are from a samples CD, the last two I imported myself.

Is there anything I am doing wrong or is something else to blame?

System: 1GHz P3 256MB Ram Win98 SE

Hmm. What kind of soundcard? Try updating the drivers for both your soundcard and your video card. Also try and reinstall DirectX.

Be sure nothing is running in the background (other than your other software like Sound Forge). Instant messengers, antivirus programs and firewalls are common culprits. It almost sounds like something is interrupting ACID while it renders the project to WAV (an already CPU-intensive task to begin with).

Think about uninstalling and reinstalling ACID as well.

HTH,
Iacobus

SB Live (not platinum)

I do have a firewall & antivirus running (Norton) will try disabling these..

Cheers,

James.
