What is the easiest way to take, say, a 3 or 4 second peice of a track or event and save it as a new file or new track? That is, without dupicating an entire 4 minute track and only using 3 or 4 seconds of it. In other words, what is the best way to rip a short sample from either a cd or a track on acidpro? Thanks for the help. -B |

Super easy in Vegas or Soundforge. And Acid too. Just load up the clip and use the Chopper to take out the bits you want. Cheers, Cuzin B |

you can do it the easiest in Sound Forge. simply select the part you want, drag it to a place in the main window, and save as a new file. however, if you don't have Sound Forge, you can also do it in ACID : 1. open the big file you want a small piece from. 2. set the loop markers to the point where you want this small piece to begin and end. 3. mute all other tracks, if any are present. 4. go to Edit -> Mix To New Track, and choose a location on your harddisk where the file should be saved. 5. click OK. ;) a new track will appear, which contains the new sample. |
