I was about to order the Clasical Loops when the end invoice showed I had to pay two-thirds the cost of the CD for air freight. (CD US$50 freight US$36) I happen to live in Australia, of course, but I shudder at spending A$63 for the delivery of one CD. Please - is there a local distributor? thanks Peter Wright Perth Western Australia |

Dude, buy 'em on eBay at a fraction of the price. I have the whole Orchestral collection--they're pretty bad and not very usable. But if you have a very specific use for the Classical CD, go for it. Just don't expect melodic or technical excellence. When somebody with brains and talent comes along to do a REAL Cinematic orchestral series, THAT will be huge. Somebody at the level of a Chris Young or a Thomas Newman producing killer loops for use in films--that could revolutionize film music as every lo-budge indie filmmaker needs it now. |

I too have the entire classical loop set and echo the post by Maruuk. They're terrible. Not very usable and have been beaten to death on AP. I was very excited to get the set and was very disappointed with what was delivered. I dropped about $130.00 U.S. for them and don't really see myself using them much. Maybe, but I kind of doubt it. The majority of SF’s loop libraries are pretty good. There’s a lot of filler as with anything, but by and large they are good. Do check out e-bay. |
