Subject:Short-circuit between the headphones????

Previously, when opening a file in SF 5, the programme would always default to the last opened directory and, likewise, when saving, default to the last directory saved to.

This is not happening with 6a. Is this a function of SF, Windows or my ignorance of both.
It's very useful to keep *un-mastered* copies in one directory and *mastered* versions in another. This *defaulting* procedure is a reliable added level of security.
Thanks for any light

hmm i fail to see what this has to do with short circuiting headphones. :)

but about your problem, when i save file in SF6.0a it defaults to the directory i last Opened a file in, not last Saved a file in. never noticed the difference, tho. :)

Sound Forge should be maintaining both these directories (independent of each other) internally, as you expect, but it only updates them when you actually open or save a file, respectively. If you are not seeing this behavior, is there anything unique about drive specifications, permissions, or anything like that?

Thanks Sonic. I'll dig deeper and get back.
(ATP. The headphone thing is a joke - Confession of limited understanding on my behalf ;-)
