What is the proper procedure for installing SF 6 if SF 5 is already installed?

Do you uninstall 5 before? Or install 6 over 5 and 6 disables 5 automatically? Can both co-exist??

I tried installing 6 after uninstalling 5 under WinXP. I kept getting the "could not find C:\Progra~1..." message. Tried re-enabling 8.3 file name support, rebooted. And Rundll still gives me these messages.

Since I work with this stuff, I uninstalled 6 and went back to 5.

Tried the 1-800 line but apparently the call center is flooded...

I'm honestly surprised: this is the first issue I've had installing a SF product in ages. It feels like management needed to get a beta out the door prematurely...

Please Advise!

hmm....i have XP and i could install both 6.0 and 6.0a just fine. i didn't have SF 5 installed before tho. have you tried NOT uninstalling SF 5 and then just install 6.0a on top of it? might work.

Well...I have WinXP pro. First only SF 5f was installed, I then run the intallation of SF 6.0 without any problems (both co-existed ok), recently I installed SF 6a (over the previous 6) and again no problems whatsoever. I never had any beta versions previously installed though...

Good luck

Thanks. I kept 5 installed, reinstated 8.3 file creation, and installed 6, and it worked.
