Subject:easier way to do mass panning in a track?

I usually pan my synth leads back and forth throughout the track. This can be very tedious manually setting the pan for several minutes worth of sound. If it's a lead that I am looping over and over then I just add the pan to one loop section and copy and paste; easy enough. But what about long tracks that don't loop. Is there a way to program acid to pan a certain track say for example 50%left-50% right every measure or half measure, etc... for 40 measures? |

Sounds like a job for a panning envelope. Works great. Cheers, Cuzin B |

OK, I'm confused. Cuzin- How do you program Acid's pan envelope to repeat a specific pan pattern? Also, groovewerx- What panning plug-in do you use? |

Anon....the panning envelope works on the theory of "points" that you add to the envelope. If you have added a Pan envelope, you should see a straight kine through the track (or section) that the envelope is on. Double Click on that line to add a point. Then drag the point up or down to perform Left/Right panning. Help file has good info on it too. Cuzin B |

I guess I worded my original post wrong, because what you describe is what I currently do. I was just wondering if there was a way to program it to set multiple points at one time, instead of manually setting the points. |

Anon - not that I know of. Mind you - I like the manual control anyway. You could try Autopan...There is a bunch of plugs that do this out there. Cuzin B |

goto: http://www.thedirectxfiles.com/plugins.htm and chose from several brands. i use native vst auto-pan plugins. if you are vst enabled, i can send you the .dll. if not, there may be a vst wrapper at directx files: http://www.thedirectxfiles.com/plugins.htm |
