I want to match the BPM's of two sound files, so I can mix them.
Is there an easy way to find the BPM of a sound file and adjust the BPM (faster or slower) to a specific BPM. I'm not bothered if the total time of a file is changed.

For both sound files, highlight a specific beat length of music (4 beats, 16 beats), Go to Special|Edit Tempo. Type in the number of beats and press Tab. The listed tempo is the tempo of your song. Adjust one of them using either pitch shift or time stretch to match the other. If you use pitch shift, you will have to determine the shift ratio using a calculator and adjust the cents and semitones to achieve your ratio. Do not check Preserve duration, this will specifically prevent your desired effect. Pitch shift with high accuracy will probably give you the most realistic results.
