Acid Problems (Need Help Desperately) -ACID Product Family

I recently restored my C drive and reinstalled Acid along with it, and it ran fine for about 4 days. However, now every time I start the program up and try to preview a track, it freezes and an error messages displays if I try to click anywhere else on the screen (this happens no matter what track I try to preview. I have an ESS Audiodrive sound card and I'm running Windows 98 on a 2001 Compaq Presario, Pentium 4 processor. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, as I am about to go into hysterics due to Acid deprivation. Please, please help me.
