Subject:MIX CD PROJECT PROBLEMS

Hello Acid community, here's what I'm doing and the problems I'm having with it:
I'm creating mix CD's using Acid 3.0 Pro from mp3 sources.
Using the Beatmapper function I'm having pretty good luck most of the time matching the tracks up and then mixing them in different tracks of 3.0
The problem comes when a track appears to either speed up or slow down a bit, so by the end of the track it's no longer falling on the measure counts. So I fudge around with the original tempo function under properties, but then the begining of the track falls out of sync with the previous track. Obviously, the original producers changed the tempo during the track. Heck I've done this with original tracks to give them more push or energy towards the end. I'm not bitching I want to overcome.
My question is this: I know I can insert a tempo change into the track in question, but how can I figure out WHERE to do this and how much??
Do I need to go back through the track and find a break or pause to "get back on the one"? Can I slowly insert several tempo changes so it's very subtle that I'm smearing the track back into sync?
How do you guys deal with tempo changes in prerecorded material? Basically what I'm trying to do is undo the original producers tempo changes and lock the track to say 135 bpm all the way through.
Thanks! Editman

heres the vinyl solution: http://www.sonicfoundry.com/Forums/ShowMessage.asp?Forum=1&MessageID=105402

you could also make a "one-shot" click track and use it as your tempo change guide.

here are a few examples: http://www.acidplanet.com/Lounge/ArtistDetail.asp?ArtistID=105801
