Subject:Using Guitar Port with Acid Pro 3.0

We just got a guitar port and cannot get it to play in Acid 3.0. I don't believe it is a MIDI. It said to plug it into the Line-In on the computer. The program and the guitar play just fine but We cannot use it in Acid Pro 3.0. That of course was the point of the purchase. The "Guitar Port" by "Line 6" claims it is supposed to work with Acid Cakewalk etc. Just they or Acid say nothing about how to do it.

Thanks for you help.

you mean the new line 6 USB guitar port right?

it should be simple enough, just plug it in to your USB, plug in your guitar, go to your Sound Card options and make sure you get a nice level, then open Acid and record.

i know it comes with effects, but i dunno if they are DX or not. if they are DX, then itll be a breeze.

The GuitarPort is a new little gadget from Line 6. It acts like an amp sim.

From what it looks like, it does indeed use DirectX. Because I can't find a damned manual online, it looks like it outputs via either the RCA left and right jacks or the USB jack. The 1/8" input on the GuitarPort should connect to the 1/8" output on Paul's soundcard.

Paul, did you make sure you have DirectX 8 installed? It's a requirement for the GuitarPort (and is allegedly included on the GuitarPort CD-ROM). Also make sure the drivers for the GuitarPort itself are installed properly.

HTH,
Iacobus
