Acid Pro 2.0 only recognizes factory soundcard or the Yamaha 2416 DSP factory card but no MOTU 828. This is on a Sony VAIO with windowsXP home edition and all my other software sees it except Acid Pro 2.0 and media player. What is wrong????? It is not for multitracking, got a Mac with ProTools for that. Acid is great and wanna use it more in my studio,Help Me.......MME option was no help. All answers are welcome and thanx in advance.... |

Did you make sure the 828's WDM drivers were properly installed? MOTU makes mention of making sure to check out the Read Me file when removing older drivers via their Firewire downloads page. HTH, Iacobus |

The 828 works with Sonar correctly,it is just not an option as the default sound card for windows. I can have both soundcards as options in Reason,Rebirth,Pro52,FM7 but not for the Media Player or Acid Pro 2.0,it just sees the Yamaha soundcard or the Soundmax factory soundcard. Maybe it just an driver update thang? I have the same problem on my mac, the CD player for OS 9 doesn't see the 001 as a output for sound unless I change the preferences everytime I wanna hear a CD. Microsoft has some work to do with windowsXP or I have to go to the ProXP. I don't know, just wondering if some others are having the same problems as I in this soundcard craziness. If I come up with an answer by messin' with it I'll post it but would like to get it to work without a big headache.SonicFoundry tried to help but didn't work and they emailed me back very quickly, that was great but hey it's not a perfect world. I'll have to get ahold of some techies and pick their brain on my little situation. Thanx |

Don't bother with XP Pro if you're using XP Home already. Aside from the security and some other features (dual processor support, etc.), there's not too much difference in performance. I'm using Windows XP Home with ACID Pro 3.0 and both an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 and an M-Audio USB Duo. (Both have WDM drivers.) Both work just fine and I can route as necessary in ACID Pro. Have you tried contacting MOTU? Maybe they can make a suggestion. HTH, Iacobus |

New MOTU drivers work and no problems so far. Newest drivers usually work best, hope anyone reading this has got their MOTU interface to work now.... |
