I talked to a SF customer service person today, who said there's some activity "upstairs."

Anyone have an ETA for 4.0?

You'll hear about it when SonicFoundry officially announces it, and most probably not a microsecond earlier.

We do know they've already prepared a 4.0 web page complete with the "Upgrade now!" sticker on it, so we have to be talking about a pre-NAMM announcement which means sometime in the next 3 weeks. And that means Beta's been going on already on a private NDA-level.

I doubt that means anything. It's expensive to be on the floor, and you have to sign up way in advance. They may well have not had confidence 4.0 would be ready by 7/21. They can still partner with an existing booth space or just use an outside hotel suite for PR. A lot of companies like that as it's quiet and the visitors can focus on the products much better. And it's pennies on the dollar compared to the whole show/booth/signage crapola.

Yeah, that is a good point. They have to be silent on future product--but not on attendance at a show 3 weeks away!
