Subject:Recording Prob in ACID PRO 3.0

I was wondering if anyone can help me out, When I use the record feature to record just vocals to lay down on top of a beat, for some reason (ACID PRO 3.0) records the beat as well in the same audio as the vocals. So obviously its a big problem as the origonal beat and the recorded one clash and it means that I pretty much can't move the vocals anywhere in the track. I'm pretty sure it never use to do that, I might have selected an option somewhere or something but I've spent ages trying to work it. Thanks a lot

Might it be this issue as listed in the SF Knowledge Base?

this is probably due to your sound card settings, rather than acid. check the record settings in the sound volume control. If you have a creative labs sound card there is a recording option in the creative mixer to record "what u hear" this effectively records all sound output onto a new track - if you have this option checked, this is what's causing the problem. Remember to look at the mixing desk app provided by your sound card supplier (install it if it's not installed) as this will probably have more input options than the standard windows one...
