Subject:Sonar & SF6 problem. Anyone else?

I (very) frequently use the Tools/Sound Forge option to apply FX to Sonar files. When attempting to do so with SF6 I get "An error occured while saving one or more files, the file could not be created" when trying to leave SF6 to return to Sonar. I still have SF5 loaded, so this is not the end of the world, but ... Anyone else encountered and have a solution to this?
Many Thanks
Weka

I'm advised by SF that this is a recognised problem on their to-be-fixed list. On the whole I like the way SF6 is going, but the moral is, "don't un-install 5".
Is this sort of thing not picked up in the Beta testing, or is it not acted on when reported? In my particular case (owing to the way I work with Sonar) it renders the app unusable till fixed. Had I bothered to dl the Beta and test it I would be able to answer both these above questions! Q.M. wins again. We do create our own realities.
Cheers

I'm pretty confident we've caught and fixed the problem for 6.0a. In the meantime, it would be helpful if you could verify that the following workaround fixes the problem.

1) hold down Ctrl+Shift and select Options->Preferences
2) select the "Internal" tab
3) find the entry labeled "Enable quick, natively supported file saves" should be near the bottom of the table
4) set it to FALSE (be sure to click away so it sticks) and hit Apply and/or OK
5) try it with Sonar or Vegas or whatever

Please email me directly if this doesn't work. Precise steps to reproduce would be helpful, as well.

Once 6.0a ships, you'll want to reset this pref to TRUE for optimal performance.

Regards,
J.

That seemed to work for me too, but I did discover that once I got the error message stating that the file couldn't be saved, I tried saving it as a 48,000Hz 16 bit PCM, it saved, then and only then could I save as 41,000Hz 16 bit PCM file and it worked. I don't know if this helps find the source of the problem, but the fix you suggested did in fact through the first several times I tried it, so I don't bother with the resaving twice any further.

Actually I still have an on-going issue flitting between Sonar 2 and SF6a via the Sonar Tools menu. On apparently random occasions the SF-processed data does not show up back in Sonar. This can normally (but not always - argh!) be rectified by sending some (any) data back into SF and immediately returning to Sonar (without processing that data). This never occurred with Cakewalk 9.03. Any ideas world?
Thanks
