Gee, sure, for you and everyone else here's my number ...

If you really did buy Acid then contact SoFo and explain your situation.

Recently I had to reformat my system drive and upon doing so I needed to reload Acid Pro 3.0f. When I am asked to enter my serial number I get a " The number that you have entered is invalid " message. I have put an e-mail message into the Sonic foundry support team and have yet to get a reply. Now this is a full version that I had paid for and downloaded about a year ago . I had gone to the Sonic Foundry site that handled this kind of problem and still could not load the serial number when asked to do so. Does anybody have an answer?
Thanks in advance.

Like Spirit said, just contact Sonic Foundry via email or telephone.
If you can prove to them that you bought it, they'll should set you
up with another or be able to tell you what the old number was.
I did this once with Sound Forge. They were very helpful.

Nobody's being screwed here either.
Who threw the manual away?

As for asking other people,
No one will give you their serial number.
It just won't happen.

This got me to wondering . . . what if someone stole both my computer and my box of core applications ?

But then, as you say Doctorfish, what about the manual ? I've been robbed several times and I've NEVER had either technical manuals or books taken.

When SoFo helped me with my Sound Forge situation, I didn't have my original CD,
old computer, or manual with me, but since I had registered originally,
I was able to supply them with my name, approximate time of purchase, my old
address and such, and they responded very quickly with a message that said
something like:

"Thank you for your inquiry. We found your information in our records
and your Sound Forge serial number was . . . ."

No problem.

As everyone here keeps saying, just contact customer support.
