Subject:Impressions of the new Mick Fleetwwood Drum Loop CD?

Hey,
Other than the very limited demo samples on the SF website, has anybody had any
experience with sample loop CD? I checked out all the demo samples and was impressed with the video, with Mick Fleetwood & crew talking about the project. I have always been a Mick Fleetwood fan and the CD sounds great so far. Just looking for any other,
pro or con, comments about it.

Thanks,

Billy Buck

Actually, I've been REALLY impressed by this library! I recieved it earlier in the week, and it's really something special. Well recorded, a wide variety of tempos... it's well worth the money.

David.

Thanks David, I really appreciate the feedback. You mention the wide variety of tempos, which is good. How about the loops themselves, many of the demo samples seem to be really busy, drum wise, but are there plentiful, basic rock drum grooves as well, with appropriate fills? What made you decide to get the loop library? Finally, do you think it captures that Mick Fleetwood drum feel? That was a primary objective, in doing the project, according to the background video on the subject.

Thanks again,

Billy Buck

Bill--

Many of the loops are, indeed, a bit less busy than the samples would lead you to believe. If you listen to the samples, you'd imagine that you were getting Drum Sugar 2, which isn't the case. Most of it tends to be a bit more on the simple side, but again, some of it IS busy. It's a nice variety. They're split into three catagories in each of the folders (there is a processed & dry selection, I think... forgive me, I don't have the disk in front of me!): Rock, Funk and Blues. The Blues tend to run around 80-100 bpm, the rock stays right around 120... and I can't remember the Funk off the top of my head. There are grooves, fills, etc. But, does it capture the Fleetwood feel? A good question... they were a bit before my time, I'm afraid. Someone else would have to answer that!

And why did I get it? Because I won it over at Acidplanet! Tee, hee! I intended to pick it up anyway (I've never been 100% happy with any of the acoustic drum libraries), but hey, if they're going to save me 50 bucks...!

Seriously though, listen to the 8 pack they have over at AcidPlanet, and make up your own mind. I, personally, was blown away by it, and would suggest that is a real gem of a library.

Just my .03 (adjusted for inflation)
David.

Thanks David, I will check out the 8-pack that you refer to. I do think this is one drum loop CD, I would like to add to my growing library though.
