Subject:Setting a default recording device

When I record using Sound Forge, the output device is plugging into the line in port on my sound card. I went the the windows recording properties and selected line in instead of microphone. However, every time I reboot the computer, the setting is changed back to microphone. Is there any way to set line in as the default?
