Hey,I'm a DJ and I want to make mix tapes (CD's actually).I dont want to create music, however I'd like to mix beats together and add in other samples from cds+vinyl.I was told Sound Forge would work but I think I need an acid program. If so which one?Is there a better program?

Depends on "how much" you want to do. Sounds like Acid would work for you (I've never tried to burn a cd from it, so I can't help you there). Acid Pro will let you use DirectX plugins, whereas Acid Music has built in plugins.

Of course, it also depends on how involved the looping in your project will be. Acid will only allow you to use one .wav file per track, whereas Vegas would allow you to physically put two files together and have extensive control over the crossfades. You can do this in Sound Forge, but it's really an editing program, not a "mixing" program.

My leaning would be toward Vegas -- but you should download both demos and give them a side-by-side.
