Subject:SoFo 4-oh NoShow Posted by: Maruuk Date:7/16/2002 8:51:23 PM Many of us just got the latest promo spam from Sonic Foundry--it refers to Acid Pro as 3.0 for Sigraph (just after NAMM), but to a show on Aug. 26th, merely refers to it as "Acid Pro". We've seen the Tour promo which is touting 4.0 at the end of Aug. so the window of release is getting a bit clearer. No mention of NAMM at all. So I would guess they can't pass up the free world press machine at NAMM to make the announcement, that would be throwing away $500,000 in promotion. But actual release is starting to look like in the Sept. zone as that would jibe with the tour, and explain why they blew off a NAMM presence. I hope I'm wrong, but if they had an Aug release, they would have forced it up for NAMM--but they didn't, so they must have had a 45-60 day post-NAMM schedule--too distant to show product but close enough to announce.

That was a pretty impressive "wishlist" made prior. Let them have all the time they need to clear as much as possible. Keeping my fingers crossed. Later.

All the major music software products have already announced their upgrades for the year. Hardware is dead, they just haven't found a gravedigger willing to bury all the dinosaur synths and samplers due to environmental concerns. Nobody wants to fly anymore anyway, so attendance and booth space is down. The only ones makin out in Nashville this year are hookers and Hooters.
