Hello,

I've recorded some sounds using the MZ-N1 NetMD recorder. The recorder does not have a line out, so I've connected it to the PC thru headphone plug (into the microphone-in on the PC), and uploaded the tracks by re-recording them in Sound Forge 4.5.

The end-result sounds alright, but is there another way for me to get better sound quality? I only have the MD player, Sound Forge 4.5, and Cakewalk ProAudio 9 to work with.

Thanks

It would be far better to use the line-in jack on the computer instead of the microphone input. This will also let you record stereo instead of mono. If you don't have a line input, get a signal attenuating adapter (about $4 at Radio Shack) to drop the signal from line level to mic level. Set the headphone output volume control to about half.
