I have downloaded some compressed RealPlayer audio and video files. I ripped them as is to a data CD. As I play the file(s) and pass them through my soundcard I cannot seem to get SF to monitor a signal to record. I tried switching my playback device to Sound Mapper and it still does not recognize the sound. What am I doing wrong? I would love to rip these into a .wav file, split it up, and rip it to disc. I tried on my old computer at home and thought that if I brought them to work (newer computer) that it would work. Same problem. Can someone fill me in here? |

Sound Forge should be set to record from the system soundcard (the one selected in Multimedia) then in the windows mixer; Double-click the yellow speaker in taskbar systray > Options > Properties > Recording > Ok > Check Select in either "what you hear" or "mixed output" > set the fader to approx. 1/2. Now Forge will record whatever is present at your soundcard, MJ |
