In the lower right hand corner of the status bar is the memory usage. What are reasonable numbers? Mine never goes above above 50 and my dual procs never go above around 30%, just curious.

I usually can hit 75 MB or more, depending on how complex the project is. 50 is pretty much the average for me.

Jeff,

I've gone as high as 90% memory usage and 100% processor usage without a skip on a 1 GHz Athlon and 192 MB of RAM. That's my absolute limit though. Typically I tax the system considerably less. Just take care of your computer and its resources and Acid will take care of you.

Hope this helps,
Nick LaMartina

Recently I've been getting errors that say playback is impossible b/c of low memory. Yet I'm only using about 13% of RAM, according to the memory usage bar.

Has this happened to anyone (using ACID Music 2.0)?

Win 98 sometimes spits out messages of low memory in certain programs when more than 512MB of RAM is installed.
Some programs report low memory even on Win XP, if you disable Paging File/VM.
Never hurts to play with those #'s along with the defragging.....last resort a reinstall.
