What if SoFo came up with a better sync solution for Vegas and Acid (better than crappy MIDI) with a bunch of cool options with it, like rewire.... that would be great!!!! I would definetly be happy with that! |

It would be a first step to solving global co-app rendering issues if SoFo would at least develop it's own version of intra-mural ReWire so its own apps could talk to each other. I think the appropriate word here is... DUH. |

Thank you for agreeing with me. It is true, and MIDI really doesnt do it, How come? It should work fine, but It seems unstable. Maruuk, so you know of any alternate way of syncing them? |

Almost everybody who tries midi routing runs screaming from it. Plus you get no co-render, so why bother? And every guy I know who uses ReWire swears by it and doesn't know how he lived without it. These are pro composers to whom time, sync and quality are critical. |

Right! youre right! the co-render thing.... that sucks big time. And In house rewire would be the key for me. I wish there was a way they could figger this out and make like a new Vegas 3.5 and an Acid 4.5 with FoundryWire 1.0 so we dont have to wait.... MIDI ROUTING SUCKS GOAT SHCLONG!!! |

Yeah, midi-routing was kind of this bastard child that allowed publishers to say you could sync apps in their promo but in the real world it crashes and burns. How many poor posters have come on here with wandering sync nightmares and endless hours wasted on this old-skool buggy kluge? |

Well, you're braver than me! I wouldn't go near it in a Desert Storm II Bio-suit. Normally, we'd expect a major feature like ReWire in an upcoming 4.5 or a 5.0 rev in the relatively distant future, but I suspect SoFo is going to make it a priority given the mixed response to 4.0. My software dev pals say it's relatively trivial to implement. Might make 4.Ob even! Lots of software gets moved this Fall in holiday sales--if SoFo had it by, say early November, it would be a veeery smart business decision. |
