it does absolutely nothing no matter what options i choose - anyone else with this problem?

Is this a MIDI project perhaps? MIDI loops don't get exported.
I hope this helps because it's the best I can think of at the moment.

Only loops get exported as well, not other track types like One-shots. If you want to include all the tracks in a project, use the "Save each track as a separate file" option under File>Render As on the menu bar. (Note that this can take a while depending on how big your project is. Each track is rendered separately, from beginning to end according to the total duration of the project.)

thanks for the replies - i am trying audio tracks ( not midi ) . if i choose the render option all works as expected - but the export loops just sits there dead :(
