Before I describe my problem, here's the configuration I'm using: - Windows NT Workstation 4.0. - Pentium III 500 MHz. - Asustek P2B-D motherboard BX 100 MHz dual processor. - Canopus DVREX-M1 video capture card. - UDMA Maxtor 7200 rpm hard drive. - Turtle Montego PCI OEM sound card. Software: - Premiere 5.1 - Boris FX - DVREX EDIT - Sound Forge 5 I'm having problems with Sound Forge 5. In fact, SF is the only software in my configuration that's causing problems. Everything else is working fine. The symptoms are as follows: I open an audio file and carry out some simple tasks. Then, maybe 2, 5 or even 30 mins later - there's no pattern although in general the problem crops up quickly - the Edit Tool, which is flashing normally in the viewing window freezes up and I can't work in the file any more. When this happens, I can't read the file either, because the read cursor won't move. I've tried moving the Edit Tool into other parts of the file, it doesn't make any difference and I have to reboot my PC to get things running normally again. Once again, I stress that all the other software functions normally when the problem occurs. The thing is, when I reboot and ask the computer to start up again, nothing happens and everything remains frozen, which means that the PC is down (definitely because of SF). I have to do a forced Reset to switch the PC off and start it up again. If anyone else has come across a similar problem or has a solution, I'd be glad to hear about it. Yannick - Paris |

Sound Forge 5.0 is not supported under Windows NT 4.0. The supported operating systems are Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, and XP. Sound Forge 5.0 may install and run on Windows NT 4.0, but it is "use at your own risk". We don't provide tech support on an unsuppoprted OS. Ted |

No. The last version that was compatible with NT 4.0 was Sound Forge 4.5. None of the current versions of our products have support for Windows NT. Support for NT was dropped a version or two ago. Ted |
