Subject:Soundforge 4.5 and Video??

Hi there, When I try to open a video file in SF I get a message syaing that there is no compatible video decompressor on my system I only really use this machine for editing video and have most codecs on board. Any ideas. thanks, Joe |

SF-4.5 will only open .AVI format video files. |

Hi there, Thanks for the reply. The file I was trying to open was an avi. type, edited in Vegas Video 3.o and of DV origin. I thought that I should just be able to open it easily in Soundforge. I am doing something wrong? Joe |

I'm not sure. Are you running the full version of 4.5? I open .avi files as follows. With SF open; Create new file: File>New, or (Ctrl+N) Open Properties window: File>Properties or (Alt+Enter) Select Video tab, click Attach. A browse window should open. 48k-16 bit is "usually" the audio standard for NTSC digital video formats. Digi-Beta, DV, DV-Cam DVC-PRO, ect. |
