"surroundsound11" on EBay is selling '6000 Samples for Sonic Foundry's Acid.' (..apparently also the same 6000 Samples for every other format, after looking.) He credits The Millennium Edition is (c)2002 Surround Sound Productions. Drums/Percussion, Basses, Guitars, Pianos/Keys/Organs/Pads, Brass and Winds, Sound Effects, all for $7.99. Anybody know if this is for real? Are they any good?

I've purchased a few libraries on ebay, and they were okay. To sit down at a keyboard or drum machine and kick out a few hundred loops is one thing. To really put the time into it (processing, assuring good "looping," taking out noise, etc.) is another. My company is about to release our first loop library, and we really put a lot of work into it -- and it isn't going to be available for $7.99...

I checked out the listing on ebay -- it says "this CD has it all" -- as in, one CD? 6,000 files on one CD. I don't use samplers, so I'm not sure what kind of file sizes they are, but to get 6,000 loops onto a CD would be next to impossible -- unless everything is mono and 1 beat in length @ 870bpm...

I think when it comes to loops, you get what you pay for. 6,000 loops for eight bucks is tempting...but I've paid ten time more for ten times less and haven't lost the use for them yet...

Thanks for the heads up! It looks a scam to me. The guy's got the same deal under about 25 different sales items (in most sampling formats)...
