Subject:Importing Files

I am totally new to Acid Pro, and I am trying to use it along with Sonar.
Can anyone tell me how to either convert and import OR just import .xi files??
A friend gave me what he said was a bunch of loops but they have a file extension of .xi - Neither Acid nor Sonar will import this type of file. I have never heard of this file extension. Any suggestions??
