Subject:Reverse of Ripple Edit?

If I select a region and delete with ripple edit activated, ALL the events slide over to fill in the empty space (including those that have no events in the selected region). But if you paste, it only ripples the tracks with events in the region. I know you can add time and then past (with ripple off), but is there a one-step solution to this?

Try Paste Insert instead. (CTRL+SHIFT+V on your keyboard. Make sure to place the cursor first.)
