does anyone have any ideas on how to remove a shutting door that starts off as a creek as it is shutting and then slams at the end? i am relatively new to audio and have some voice over work i am currently editing that obviously was done in the comfort of someone's office with surprisingly very little background noise save the slamming door. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

thanks in advance
nathan

If the door-slam occurs "in between" words or sentences, you can replace it with what's known in the biz as "Room Tone" (a pause between a sentence or paragraph that has no talking, just the background ambient sound.)
Ex: Copy 1-2 seconds of room tone", Highlight the door slam, Right-click, select <Overwrite>
If the noise happens at the same time as the dialouge, there ain't a hell of a lot you can do. Maybe try Noise Reduction-Click/Pop remove, play with parameters, and hope for the best.

thanks again for responding to my post rraud. i eagerly await the presets for the other question of mine ;) yeah, about the door slam, it is unfortunately during his vocals so i guess "there ain't a hell of a lot I can do." if i ask nicely, maybe i can have it recorded again. i will try some more nr, though.

all the best
