I just bought a new computer and after installing soundforge again I was not able to record streaming music. When I play something through realplayer or winamp soundforge doesn't record it. With my other computer this has never been a problem. I think I've tried all the settings there are but i still can't record. Can anyone help me out. Greetings, K van Heusden |

Did you select "What you hear" or "Mixed output" in the Windows mixer? Double-click the speaker icon in the taskbar systray > Options > Properties > Recording > OK > "What you hear" or "Mixed output". Adjust the fader for recording level. MJ |

I got so far as to the recording > OK, but I don't see "What you hear" or "Mixed output". I do see a "wave out mix" but this volume control is already open. Besides that, I've opened every volume control there is and set the sliders to maximum. I've been at this for 2 hours now and I really don't know what I'm doing wrong. Anyway, thanx for the quick reply and if anyone knows the answer, please help me out K van Heusden |

Go into Options/Properties in the Windows mixer, and then choose "Recording" under "Adjust Volume for". Adjust the levels of "Wave Out Mix" here and make sure that the "Select" box below it is selected. Ted |

No, that's not it. I've made sure nothing is muted and all slides are up. Maybe it helps to say that I'm working with wXP now, maybe some things are different compared to w95 and wNT, with which I used to work. I know that in wNT the slide for "wav/direct sound" had to be open, but back then I had a soundblaster soundcard and now some other brand. But I assume that in my new system the "wav" slide is the same. I know the problem lies not with soundforge, because I just installed some other audio editing program to see if that worked, but here also no sound when recording. |

Did you make sure the "Select" box below it is checked? Double-click the speaker icon in the taskbar systray > Options > Properties > Recording > OK > Select (put check in "Select"} "Wave Out Mix". Adjust the fader for recording level. MJ |

Yep, wave out mix is selected and volume is adjusted. All the soundcontrols are selected and full volume, but no possibility to record. |

OK, I finally found it. The Mono out-volume control was still on. I muted it and everything works ok. Thanx for the effort. K van Heusden |
