SF 6.0 does not load past the software identification screen.... then my computer locks up.... I am using windows XP pro with an NTFS file structure... my computer is adequate to handle anything,,, I just recently reinstalled my OS and used NTFS instead of Fat32... It was running fine on the fat32.... is there a known problem with NTFS and SF products?

No, we should run on NTFS systems just fine.

But if you used an OS update package or some other conversion tool to switch from FAT32 to NTFS after Sound Forge was already installed, you'll probably want to uninstall and re-install.

Do you have an ATI video card? With the brand new drivers? If so, lower your hardware graphics acceleration to fix the problem.

Can you tell us if you consider this an ATI problem...read: are you working on a fix or is ATI?

ATI is. I have actually corresponded with one of their testers and he confirmed that the problem is indeed theirs.
