Nothing comes close to ACID for creativity in the early stages of song. I am now at the stage where I need other software that is oriented towards high quality production to get the absolute best mix and FX processing from my ACID efforts. Ideally I would like to take my ACD project and just open it in another program. The SOFO solution appears to be Vegas. There are also many threads suggesting Cubase SX. Your suggestions and experiences would be greatly appreciated. (I am currently using PRO 3.0) Thanks Paulie |

HEY YO PAULIE!...Dude what are your needs? If you really need DEEP midi implementation then cubase SX or Sonar is the way to go. But if you just need a app for audio mixing then I think you should get Vegas. I have Sonar 2.0 XL and I STILL find myself mixing in vegas[my preference]. Plus with version4 coming out in a while you can bet that some of the newer acid audio features will carry over. My bet it will be... 1. 5.1 surround mixing 2. ASIO support 3. Buss tracks And possibly a few others that could show up. Do you own Acid Pro 4 yet? IMHO I think that you could get all the work done with that! I'll be testing that idea later. I would stick with Vegas for my 1st choice and Sonar as my second if your needs are demanding in some cases like mine are. Later. |

by opening your acd project in another app do you mean several acid tracks or a stereo render? if you are going to mix a stereo render, i suggest wavelab. if its multitracks go with cubase vst or sx. |
