Subject:VSTi's in 4.0 seem to be crashing my system

My computer has run all previous versions of Acid just fine. Upon installation and use of version 4.0 and VST soft synths I find that as I tweak ANY of the parameters in MOST of the synths my entire computer crashes and shuts down. The only synths that I've not had any trouble with are the one that Acid came with and Junglist. So far, Waldorf Attack, Model E, Muon Atom Pro, Pro 5, and Mercury have all caused my system to totally shut down. I also cannot seem to get my ASIO drivers to work better than the DX ones as they cause the audio to stutter when I change cursor positions while playing or stop/start playback. Could having the DX drivers enabled be causing the crashing of the VSTi's?

Here's my system: AMD Athlon XP 1600, MSI K266 Pro II mother board, 512 MB DDRam, Ultra 2 SCSI 10k RPM Cheetah hard drive, NVida G-Force II video card, MAudio Delta 66 Audio Card, and Midiman USB Midisport. All drivers have been updated for all hardware and chipset.

Your system is almost the same as mine (Athlon 1800XP+, Ultra W2 SCSI, no IDE)
It's an ACID problem with ASIO and VST Instruments.
Real bummer, since apparently, Sonic Foundry knew ASIO wasn't strong.
You and I are on the growing list of "ASIO and VST Instruments don't work".
Hang in there, hopefully, a fix is coming soon.
