Is there any problems mixing 24 bit loops in a project with 16 bit, so far I have not had any problem for simple projects? (in my case the laswell loops) Also has anyone dropped 24 bit acid loop wav files directly into Vegas Video timeline for standard DV NTSC projects, ie 48k 16bit? |

None at all. It's my belief that all Sonic Foundry applications open the 16 or 24 bit audio files and then convert them to floating point number that are crunched by the CPU. They are then converted back to a fixed bit length (16, 24) after being mixed to the output buss. That resolution is determined by the project properties. |

The only problem I've come across in ACID Pro 4.0 is using a 96 kHz sample rate for the whole project using something like 44.1 kHz samples (whether they be 16 or 24-bit). I'll get nasty clicking with One-shots especially but also with Loops. Rendered files using the 96 kHz sample rate, for some strange reason, exhibit the same problem. Weird. The solution? Resample all Loops/One-shots/etc. to 96 kHz. Thank God for Batch Converter 5.0. (And hard drive space.) :) Iacobus |
