From the manual

"The advantage of using MIDI clock is that ACID can send its tempo changes to the chasing application and
they will be preserved."

Any idea what applications this is talking about?

Just about any app that supports MIDI clock I would guess. I believe something like SONAR can be a MIDI clock slave.

How about clock to a VSTi...anyone syncing tempo to vstis

This isn't needed. VSTi defines a time info mechanism to communicate Tempo/looping/start/stop information.

ACID 4 does not currently support this. It will be released in an update.
