Subject:What is registering modules? During install.

I'm using win2k pro o.s. and every time I try to install sound forge 5.0f. My pc locks up at registering modules. Has anyone had this happen to them? Win98 s.e. was so much better but it doesn't recoginize but 512mb of ddr sdram. So far I'm not too impressed with win2k, any suggestions?

Try updating the Windows installer. Go to Microsoft's website and type "Windows Installer" in the search box to go right to it. Make sure to get the one for Windows 2000, not 98/ME.
