Well, yes. :)

I have a GNX2 guitar effects processor, which has S/PDIF output. I run that into my M-Audio Audiophile 2496's S/PDIF input.

I then have to enable the Audiophile's onboard monitor mixer in order to playback while recording. (By default it's off, as I believe most are.) I also have to enable "S/PDIF In" as the master clock so that the Audiophile gets its sync information from the GNX2 if I'm to record anything. (Long story.)

I can then set up the record dialog in ACID Pro and play and record away. Couldn't be easier.

I'd recommend an external digital audio editor like Sound Forge to clean up your recorded takes, especially if you want to make loops out of your takes as well. You can definitely do without it but it cuts down on file waste and will enable you to tweak your takes to the best they could be.

Actually, Md,
what I think he is refereing to is using the Vst Plugin by IK multimedia called AMplitube (A pretty decent guitart amp simulator).

what he wants to do is have live input monitoring like N-track, Sonar, and Cubase.

He wants the vst to be effecting his sound AS he is playing it, instead of applying the effect afterwards.

Last time I checked, Acid doesn not support Live input monitoring. plz correct me if Im wrong.

Ohhh... (slaps his head) :)

That looks like a VST effects plug-in, not a VSTi, correct? ACID Pro 4.0 does not support VST effects, only VSTi.

oh yeah BTW

Directizer 2.2 works perfectly with amplitube so it CAN be used in ACID 4
