I just tried using the demo of Acid 4.0 with the demo of Speedsoft's Virtual Sampler 2.74 (Vsampler). I have a large collection of soundfonts and I'd like to be able to use them with Acid 4.0. I inserted a midi track and assigned Vsampler to it. I opened up Vsampler and importer a soundbank into it. I used the Acid piano roll to create a few notes. I could playback and hear patch1. I selected a different patch and the playback sound changed accordingly. Just as I thought it was working I got cascading error messages, too quick to see and the programs crashed. This is happening consistently. I also get a crash if I attempt to change the loaded soundfont within Vsampler.

Does anyone have any comments or ideas? I hope I have got the terminology right as I
find midi more than confusing. As for system specs I am using Windows XP Pro 2002, Pentium 4, 2GB CPU, IGB Ram, Soundblaster Audigy Ext and an All-in-Wonder Radeon 8500DV videocard.

Thanks,

Chris (Hunt)

There are a few bugs in the initial release of ACID Pro 4.0, not the least is some VSTi's not working all that great with the app. Fruityloops VSTi, for example, also has problems with ACID Pro 4.0.

As always, when coming across a problem, be sure to contact SoFo tech support directly so they're at least aware of the problem. You might want to contact SpeedSoft as well to see if they can help out somehow as well. Hang in there.
