hello,

for some strange reason i cannot seem to open certain mp3 files that i used to be able to. when i attempt to open a file to put as another track on the timeline a pop-up window appears saying "the file "such and such mp3" cannot be opened until its plug in has been registered. You can click the Register button to register the plug in and continue using the file in ACID." then it has two options on the pop-up window "upgrade" or "ok" and nothing happens when clicking on either of them. i have no clue what is going on. I don't know where the register button is. i am in dire need of help becuz stuff i've put so much effort into is now almost lost. please help me. i would really really appreciate it. thank you.

Hello,

Put a track in Acid then draw in a few measures just to have a wave to render, then in the File Menu select Render As, a dialog box will appear, from the file type dropdown menu select MP3, then you should see a Radio Button that says Custom, click that and you should get a dialog box for rendering MP3's and it should have a register button on it somewhere, make sure you're on line and that should step you through the reg process.

See ya, Rockitglider

ACID XPress will prompt an upgrade dialogue. If you're having problems upgrading (I don't know why the upgrade button didn't work) you can call Customer Service or better yet just buy the product online.

If you can't register your MP3 and the button doesn't work then again I'd call customer service or use online registration. http://www.sonicfoundry.com/registration/register.asp.
