Subject:Rendering WMA Broken in Acid 4.0?

My first project in Acid 4.0, and it won't render WMAs. MP3s work just fine, but the WMA (regardless of settings) turns out as random collection of sounds from the different loops). If I save as MP3 (high res) and open in SoundForge 6.0, I can render WMAs without any problem. Has anyone seen anything similar?

Lars F.

Lars,

What version of Windows are you using? Have you updated to the latest version of Windows Media Player? I just rendered a few projects and had no trouble playing them back.

I'm having no problems either. Might want to try to repair your installation of ACID 4.0. (Would deleting the "wmfplug.dll" (in the the "Shared Plug-Ins" folder) or "wmfplug2.dll" (in the "ACID 4.0" folder) file help any before repairing? I'm just curious...)

The wmfplug2.dll in the ACID 4.0\FileIO Plug-Ins\ folder is the only one that matters, and there is really no way that it could be the wrong version. I would say:

1) Update Windows Media Player to the latest version, also download any critical or recommended updates for your system from Windows Update

2) Remove and reinstall ACID 4.0

That should take care of any problematic versions of files on both the Windows and ACID side of things.

Sorry it have taken me so long to reply here.

Windows XP - Kept up to date with Windows Update. Fairly certain I have latest Media Player. As I said, SoundForge does not show this problem.
