I posted a couple of problems to SoFo support using the regulation form, and although I did get one reply, there's been silence so far on my main issue. It's now been about two weeks. A week ago I emailed some screen shots to help explain the problem further and still no reply :( (registered user, purchased AP4 etc) Anyone hearing much from SoFo support ? Obviously they're very busy, but ... |

Spirit, I'm not sure of just how swamped they are down in Technical Support at the moment. What's the trouble you are having? Hopefully I can help you out quickly. Nate |

thanks Nate, here's the text of my email to Support (minus references to the screenshots I sent). The situation is: * I start a MIDI track and enter some notes - making sure they are at the very start of the measure. The MIDI track is triggering synths from my Creamware PulsarII card. As you'll see from the screen shots the card is operating on ASIO at 5ms. * Because these synths are being triggered, and are NOT VSTi, I then solo the MIDI track and enable audio recording. * Everything works smoothly, but when I zoom in on the audio track it is clearly not starting at the beginning of the measure. Also, if I play the MIDI and audio tracks together there is a definite doubling effect indicating that the events are not happening at the same time. * Various combinations of offset slightly modify the start point, but the effect is marginal and never approach the true start point regardless of of positive or minus values. On ASIO with 5ms latency I don't think I should be getting this sort of error. Certainly if I manually "play" the synth onto the track I can achieve much better accuracy. This is a workaround I suppose, but rather defeats the purpose of having MIDI . . . (I can send the screenshots again if that helps. My email address is spiritof45@hotmail.com ) thanks |
