Subject:Rendering to mp3 adding beat of silence

I am using Acid Music 3.0 (g) to create short loops for flash movies. I am able to create/edit wav file to form perfect loop, but when I render to mp3, rendered file has a "beat" of silence at tail end of file (I can see it visually if I open mp3 in program). Obviously, this kills the loop effect. Any ideas how to avoid this? I render with "loop region only" checked and have also tried without it as well with same result. Thanks in advance for any advice. |

Mike, No, this can't be avoided. It's a neccesary part of encoding MP3's. For more information, search the forum using the words "MP3" and "silence". There's about 82 pages-worth of posts. - Nick |

It's something weird with mp3's and file sizes. If you matched the loop length perfectly with some mp3 block size or something, you may not have the loop killer at the end. The thing to do (it worked for me using Swish the third party flash maker) is to render as a loop and have Swish or Shockwave (isn't that Macromedia's Flash maker?) compress the loop as an mp3 for you. This should loop seemlessly. You can go to my friend's site for a demo of the loop in action: http://www.dirtyboymike.com/ . The flash itself is nothing to write home about, but the loop loops seemlessly. TeeCee |
