Am I to assume it would be wise to wait and upgrade to let SF filter out some bugs? I'm really happy with 2.0, but I was looking forward to VSTi's and ASIO support, as well as the odd time sigs. I still have faith in SF. It's the only reason I'm still running Windows instead of Mac X. |

Why not just buy into 4.0 now? (I take it you have ACID Pro 2.0?) You'll be able to download free updates after becoming a paid and registered user anyway. Personally, I feel that ACID 4.0's audio engine/rendering quality is way better than previous versions (especially 2.0), VSTi/ASIO or no VSTi/ASIO. Projects have more clarity in them. Check out the 4.0 demo if you haven't done so yet. Barring the M-Audio Delta ASIO driver issue, it's pretty much stable for me. Iacobus |

I have an Echo Mia card, so I won't have the same ASIO issue (hopefully). I was hoping to be able to record guitars, vox, and bass directly into Acid and work entirely in there, instead of having to export to Cubasis as I'm doing right now. It works, but it's not exactly efficient. Perhaps I will take the jump. |

Hey, that's exactly the kind of workflow I use. I record right into ACID 4.0 and tweak recorded takes with Sound Forge. (You might be pleased to know that recorded takes in ACID 4.0 have the measures automatically marked for easy editing in something like Sound Forge. I just love this as it's so much easier to create loops this way.) Iacobus |
