Subject:Missing "MIDI track mix" function

The only way I found for mixing MIDI tracks is copy and paste the MIDI notes manually from one track to another in Piano Roll mode. It's somewhat archaic, isnt't it ? Is there an easier way to mix MIDI (within Acid) ? Do you plan to implement such features in future updates ? I point out that Mixing MIDI tracks means merge all events of two or more MIDI loops into one single MIDI loop (similar to "Render to new track" for audio). Keep in mind that other basic MIDI functions are still missing in Acid 4... |

DJIpy, Check this thread for some suggestions/workarounds for bouncing MIDI tracks. Also, what MIDI functions are missing that you're looking for? - Nick |

There are a lot of useful MIDI functions : Mix tracks, unmix track (by channels, by key, by zone), adjust the velocity automatically (set to a value or shift it louder/softer), eliminate useless events (control changes, modulation, pitch shift,...), set the notes durations, etc... When I'm writing music, I'm usually working with MIDI files until the song sounds ok. I mix, edit notes, edit control change, replace events, etc... very often. When the MIDI file is ready, I record and process audio loops, and I make the final mix. That's why I can't be satisfied with the present MIDI features in Acid 4. (Sorry, I won't upgrade to Acid 4 unless new MIDI functions become available). |

Hopefully some third party developer sees the need for a great OPT midi plugin and creates one to complement acid. I'm curious to know which companies are interested in doing so. That way we could all cruise over to there web page and post our thoughts. Can anyone at sofo comment on who to talk/email to. Show them the demand and they shall supply. Later. |
