Scott, Please read the FAQ. Acid is great for remixing, but it's not a karaoke machine. There are means to diminish vocals at the sacrifice of stereo separation and fidelity, but it's not worth the trouble. You won't find any program/plugin/hardware out there that can do what you're asking for, as the technology simply doesn't exist. - Nick |

Hi Nick, Never be too fast in saying something dont exist, on consumer level (and in children software) not yet, but the hi-end world has is ! There are several programs that can extract totally separated vocal-lines or single instrument lines from stereo mixes, most of these stunning softs run on Silicon Graphics machines as seen (and heard) by myself already 7 !! years ago. (Dont know where the level of development is now, i didnt follow it but for sure it sill got better and perhaps one day finds its way into mainstream) But why ? For that schoolkids could steal even better from existing records than by sampling ? (Perhaps its better not to demistify everything thats technologically possible) Cheers Sky |
