Subject:Perhaps a known issue in 4.0 : Solo on assignable FX tracks doesn´t work

Hi Acid people,

Sorry if it is already one of many known issues that will be corrected in the next update but i wasn´t sure about it, that´s why i preferred to mention it. Didn´t find (with search function) any post here with this concern.

Could anybody confirm or reply ?

I don't know if this will help, but I know in my build that soloing an assignable FX works; I just hear the assignable FX when soloed. (Of course, you have to have an assignable FX envelope assigned to a track to have it work.)

hi Iacobus

thanks for reply, but it is not true the solo function does not work, nor for fx tracks nor for bus tracks, nor for both types in the mixer or anywhere else, definetly not.

skysurfer - can you elaborate on 'it doesn't work' - in what way is it not working for you?

Mike K - compare to 3.0 and you´ll see what i mean - solo means to hear just the track you click on - nothing else

Ahh yes, I know what you mean. I reported this as a bug a couple of weeks ago - there have been a couple of threads on this already.

Don't know about Acid 3, but Vegas 3 certainly handles soloing 'properly' (or perhaps 'usefully')

I hate the way pre-fade fx sends from tracks still get sent when the track is muted, but this is apparently by design....

Conclusion: Solo should Solo! (we both agree on this)

Mike you are right, thanks for understanding me.
So this will hopefully be corrected in the update.
Solo should just solo just like mute should just mute.
(mute a4 does)

yeah that drives me crazy too. i understand the "a real mixing buss works like that" concept but i use computers instead of hardware because they're supposed to be more flexible not less so! the way it works in acid3+4 has pretty much led to me -never- using the buss and effects bus functionality in these progs, i pretty much do everything with inserts. that would be fine except for comped parts where two or three tracks needs the same effect, it adds up quickly and leads to having to tweak the same thing in a lot of different spots. hmm...
