I've seen a few comments and bug reports but no conclusions. Is it recommended by Sonic Foundry? JTelles |

I'd have to say proceed at your own risk for right now. There have been reports on these forums of problems with WMV renders on WinXP with SP1 installed, but others haven't had any problems. However, some users were able to workaround this by reinstalling SP1 on top of the existing SP1. We have been investigating this and are working with Microsoft on this. So far neither we nor MS have not been able to reproduce the problem. If any users who have encountered this issue can give us more information it could be of help to us. Many users have already posted their system configuration; we would also like to know if the WinXP is an OEM version or was purchased separately, and did it include SP1 or was SP1 installed separately. |

Ok, My situation now is: OEM WinXP (came installed in Laptop). Sound Forge 6 and updates to 6b were installed before SP1. I have just finished installing SP1 and apart from some delay to open SF the first time, everything seems to be working OK. So, no complains here... JTelles |

I have installed sp1 on several computers now due to the winXp problem of audio skipping. And none of them have had any problems since the installs. |

F.Y.I. I have a Dell Optiplex GX1 PIII 450 512mb, running Win XP with SP1 (not OEM). I have been using both Sound Forge 6.0 and Vegas 3.0 with no problems. I've tweaked the machine out as much as possible, still slow on rendering but honks right along. |
